So I am a college student, but I spend most of my summers abroad. So I am really looking for a camera that can handle both the everyday college life job, but also the traveling and taking amazing pictures job.

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible.

-No more than $350

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?

-Not too bulky, pocket size would be nice, but if its a little bigger I wouldnt mind.

How many megapixels will suffice for you?

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x)

-No less than 5x optical zoom, I like gettin close up especially for concerts etc.

* How important is

    ive read a couple of reviews and they’ve said that the zs3 has alot of manual stuff? i’m not quite sure

    I was going to recommend a compact ultrazoom like the Panasonic ZS3, Canon SX200IS or Fuji F70EXR but if you don’t care for the ZS3 you probably wouldn’t like these other cameras either.

    Is the ZS3 too small, too large? Why do you have a problem with the ZS3?

    No, the ZS3 is an auto camera with few manual controls. It has lots of scene modes if you want to use them but it also has an excellent smart auto mode that analyzes the shooting conditions and picks the right settings on its own.

    For a small long zoom camera my recommendation is to go with the Panasonic ZS3, Fuji F70EXR or Canon SX200IS. The Fuji has the best indoor shooting ability, the Panasonic and Canon are best for outdoor shooting but do a pretty good job indoors as well.
